Current Accounts

  • Current accounts are generally opened for business transactions and also known as transactional accounts. No profit is paid on these accounts, neither Zakat is deducted. Individuals can also maintain  current accounts.
  • These accounts can be opened both in local and foreign currency.

Eligible Applicants

This product is available to every adult without gender discrimination. Youngsters below 18 years of age can open their current account as a Minor, operated through guardian.

Account Opening

The account will be opened upon submission of required documents in the light of Bank policies and Regulatory requirements.

Minimum balance – There is no minimum balance requirement.

Maximum balance – No restriction.

Few free services are available depending on the average balance in the account as per Bank’s Schedule of Charges.

Asaan accounts are meant for low income/unbanked/under banked masses, with minimum documentation. These accounts cater to the banking needs of skilled/unskilled work force, farmers, less educated men and women, self employed individuals, pensioners, young adult population.

Salient features :

  • Only individuals having no proof of income can open these accounts in Pak Rupees as single or joint account.
  • One CNIC holder can open only one such account (single or joint) in a Bank.
  • These can be Current or Savings accounts by nature.
  • These accounts shall preferably be card-based, but cheque books can be issued if customer so desires.
  • Account opening form is simple one pager.
  • Initial deposit for opening of account is Rs 100/- but no minimum balance is required to be maintained.

To facilitate home remittance recipients (beneficiaries) Bank offers Asaan Remittance Accounts to general public as per directives of State Bank of Pakisatn.

Asaan Remittance Account

Salient features :

a) Transaction Limits/Turnover :
( i ) Maximum credit balance limit of Rs 2,000,000/-
( ii ) Cash withdrawal limit of Rs 50,000/- per day.
( iii ) Fund transfer limit from Asaan Remittance Account to any other account of
Rs 50,000/- per day.
b) Limited Mandate : This account shall be fed through Home Remittances from abroad
only and no local credit shall be allowed in the account. Further, no commercial
remittances shall be deposited in the account.
c) In addition to the requirements specified under Asaan Accounts name / names of
prospective remitter/remitters stating relationship with the account holder as well
form the part of the account opening form.
d) Security, issuance of Proceeds Realization Certificate (PRC), timely credit and
complaint resolution, etc., are also ensured under Asaan Remittance Account.

In order to facilitate and provide basic banking facilities to the low income people in Pakistan, we offer Basic Banking Accounts (BBA) facility with the following features:

  • The minimum initial deposit will be Rs.1,000/-.
  • Will be non-remunerative account.
  • No limit on minimum balance. In cases, where balance in BBA remains ‘nil’ for a continuous six month period, such accounts will be closed.
  • No fee for maintaining BBA.
  • Maximum two deposit transactions and two chequing withdrawals are allowed, free of  charge, through cash/clearing per month.
  • Unlimited, free of charge, ATM withdrawals from the bank’s own ATMs. In case of with drawal from BBA through the ATMs of other banks, the respective/other bank may recover  charges for such transactions.
  • Statement of account will be issued once in a year.
